Hello loves! Are you a current fan of pattern? Does everything gingham just speak to you? Well, typically, I am not a fan of gingham. I’ve honestly never found it flattering for myself but, most definitely on others. Yet, while recently browsing through Anthropologie, I spotted this amazing ruffled gingham skirt! Ya’ll, I am simply over the moon for this skirt! And, if you are lover of gingham, you need this skirt in your life. Additionally, if you aren’t, step out of your box and try it! It’s too adorable to pass up.
First of all, let’s talk details. The gingham pattern isn’t the typical navy color, it’s black. If you are following me on IG, I am such a fan of black. I tried to fight that for so long, no clue why. No longer, I am embracing it! So, when noticing the black color of this ruffled gingham skirt, I knew I had to try it. Following the adoration for the color, the asymmetrical hem with the ruffle really drew me in. It’s adding a bit of an edge to a traditional pattern. That’s not all, it’s above the knee. For reference, I am 5’4″, okay maybe an 1/8 of an inch shy of that, but I am rounding up! With that being said, mid length skirts are simply not as flattering for shorter figures. Above the knee provides a more elongated look.
This skirt is the statement piece whether using this for day or night. Throw on a basic t-shirt, block heels, with a cute clutch and colorful earrings and you are set to go! Don’t be afraid to layer pattern on pattern either. It’s completely okay! We were out of town while wearing this look or I would have probably used my leopard print clutch! It’s all about what makes you feel confident and fabulous!
Would love to hear your thoughts and hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week!
